draining radiator

Is there a way to do this without making a huge mess? Last time I just pulled the lower hose and mopped up later, but that was someone else's garage now that it's in mine I'd rather not have to take that coolant bath again. Anyone got any tricks? I thought I would pull the block drain first and that might help.

In the center housing of the block (the one between the 2 rotor housings) atthe very bottom theres a plug, i think its 14mm, put a pan under it that will hold 5 quarts or so, remove the plug , presto antifreeze drain It still will make a small mess when you remove the radiator but maybe a few pints instead of a gallon
