drag tires rims and suspension

I was looking into input as to the largest wheel tire combo for the rear end of my car, its a gs but i have a lead on a gsl lsd disk rear end in it with the standard 4x110 for a good price. i plan on running some rewinds for an auto cross tire rim but need to get as tall wide a tire patch as possible for 1/4 mile applications. my car has the 3.90 rear and is putting out about 500hp/475trq between 1500-5800 power band, tips the scales at about 2500 with me in it, and has a trans gearing of:
1st=2.95/1
2nd=1.94/1
3rd=1.34/1
4th=1/1
5th=.73/1
I was planning on putting rb springs (which kinda scare me since i'll lose clearance on the backs but i know i want a stiffer spring on the back no less) and konis in it thinking that would it would be a happy medium for a daily driver/track car since i know auto cross and drag suspensions setups are different games all together. any advice or input would be appreciated.

for rims i planned on running rewinds for dd and i was going to purchase some black steel circle track rims and have my machine shop re-drill them for proper bolt pattern since this would give me a larger range for backspacing and offset.

....or should i just save my pennies for a grannys 8.8/12 bolt and tub it?

Save the pennies for the granny swap. With some sticky tires and your power levels I would
give you 3 runs before the rear end starts to whine.

What are your mods?

The largest possible tire you can fit in the stock wells is a 275/60/15 on a 15 x 8 wheel with a 5.5" backspace.

Looks like a cool setup. I'm finishing up an ls1
swap in mine. I'm leaving the stock gsl-se rear
for now with no real worries, but I also have no
plans to ever run the car with slicks or run it hard
from a dig. It will strictly be a street car. Have you
weighed your car or is that an educated guess for
the weight? I'm hoping mine weighs less than that
with the aluminum engine and stripped interior.
Did you use granny's for the mounts, or make your
own? Do you have it running yet? Keep us updated!

it was right around that weight with full interior. I'm from south dakota so they're grain scales everywhere so its pretty close. i used mostly grannys components, I've had it running for about a year now, i'd call it irresponsibly fast. if some on wants me to upload a video of it running through the 40 series with some revving, i could prob do that, i'm going to make a video of it running down the street when i get home from Afghanistan in a month.
