Door Swap (Non Electric to Electric)

I just purchased another FB, this time one with everything i wanted/needed on it except for one small glitch...

The windows don't work. So i was wondering if i can swap in my non electric mirror doors to the electric one, yet still keep the electric mirrors? I don't know if that made sense, but i want to keep the functionality of my elec. mirrors, yet i want to be able to roll my windows down again, just not the same with just the moon roof wide open.

Are you asking if you can switch to manual windows? And if so will you mirrors still work? rx7doctor

If the doors you will be taking off have power mirrors and the doors you will be putting on have power mirrors then you are fine. Just plug the new ones up, there is a quick disconnect in the door that will make this very easy.
If the doors you will be putting on DO NOT HAVE POWER mirrors then just unscrew the power ones and put them on your new doors.
You cna do this by:
1. removing the two phillips head screws from the under side of the power mirror.
2. pull off the mirrior assembly from the pillar it sits on.
3. disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the mirror that leads into the door panel.
4. remove the two phillips head screws that hold the mirror base, or pillar, to the door.
That is all you need to do to remove them if you have to.
then to reinstall them on the other door is simply the opposite of removing.
You shouldn't have to do this though. Almost every model of the RX7 came with power mirrors.
Good luck

Well, I will have to look at it to be sure but, the one RX-7 i purchased for $300 doesn't have electric mirrors on it. Or a sun roof, or any other options that the one i paid $500 for does. The windows are all manual windows, but the mirrors aren't the same to answer your question rx7doctor. And the windows on the '84 (electric mirrors) don't work, won't roll down and if you do get them down they won't roll up etc. And the passenger door on the '84 won't open from the inside, you have to get inside, or reach in through the sun roof and open it. Where as the doors on the '83 (non elec. mirrors) work perfect. Even the hinges are still strong with only a minimum of slack in them. Hense the reasons i wish to do a dor swap.

And thanks TurboIIGuy for the info.
