Door sticker

Does anyone know if it's possible to still buy a door jam sticker for an 83? The one that says how many passagers and gvw. Id love to be able to buy a new one since I just sanded mine off for paint. the parts guy at my local Mazda dealer is hopeless...

That tag also has the month and year of the vehicles manufacture. The only place on the car this info is listed. As far as I know, they have never been available from the factory due to the manufacturing date info. It's kind of a two piece decal (clear laminate over a thin film) and fairly delicate, easily damaged even through just age and normal exposure.

It's not an actual VIN tag, but I know certain state officials whose job it is to work with and regulate such things, frown upon removing these. I don't think you can actually get into any trouble but some people look at it as a form of destroying/altering you vehicles VIN. Just FYI.

The only reason I pulled it off was because im changing the color of the car from black to white and didnt want the paint under the sticker to be black lol there was actually two stickers, the white one (one i want) and the one with the vin number and date. The VIN numbered one came off in one piece, im going to stick it to a piece of paper and leave it in the glove box. I just wanted the white sticker so it looks stock there.

shoot me a PM i probably have the white tire sticker. the VIN tag came blank when you could get it, they stopped having it available a long time ago though. in theory there is a form you fill out and once its approved, and mazda has to see the car, then they will give you a new one. in practice its not available.

The tire sticker is available from Black Dragon for a couple bucks. The computer-printed weight and VIN one is not.

Yes, the tire sticker is on the door, usually just below the lock mechanism. Like DD says, it's available through Black Dragon and apparently other members too!

Damn it! I just order a bunch of stuff from BD today. I looked for that sticker on their online catalog for about 5 min, I didn't think they would have it! I better call them right now.
