Don't you just love MS_Paint
I decided to make my own headlight kit. Max7 said he wishes he would have done it this way and buy the lights himself, so I'm going to take his advice. Thanks Dude
I actually thought his car looked very nice with the CP kit, but I think I can do it cheaper.
I just order the the headlights and tomorrow I'm taking my light covers to cut the polycarbonate the same size. Same material I made the sunroofs for the FC guys.

And this Is why I love MS Paint
The lights used in the CP Craping light kit. Hella Optilux Model 1300 Driving Light Kit $43.95 for 1 pair shipped. http://www.bestdarnparts.com/hella1300.html
Even thier baskets are crap I'm remaking mine

Gregs I am in the process of working with a fabricator in the area creating an easy bolt in style kit for the 1st gen that makes the headlights low profile (pop up half way) and are quad style (two light s on yeah side)... You have to replace the swing arm adjusters and replace the lamps.. it's almost done.... I will post a picture of the kit soon..

I really like the optics of a well done HID kit... The sharp cutoff and absurdly bright light right where you need it...

Right now we are exploring halogen lights as HID are VERY expensive. The kit we are currently working on will cost about $200-$250 depending on certain lighting options. The kit will feature 4 headlamps, wiring and a fiberglass housing that will fit in the stock location, the swing arm adjusters are CNC machined to accept the stock arms and swing bushings.
I am guessing if people are interested we could make a few of these kits. The CNC part is easy as is the headlamp install, the housings is where most of the time has gone.. I have been trying to make this kit look as "OEM" as humanly possible, while refraining from "CUtting" the oem headlamp assembly..
I will start a thread of my own if there is any interest in the kit. As I mentioned the price will be anywhere from $200-$250, shipping availible cheap to most places in the usa and canada.
In all honesty I will probable make the kits on demand, take a deposit, build it, then ship...

Here is a picture of the kit "badassrx7" made, his kit utilized a completely different approach to limiting the travel of the headlight bucket, but needless to say the end result will look similar.

RRTEC, what type of lights will it take? Hella 90mm units, I assume. If so, then end users that want HID (Or any other non standard lighting option) can change them at will. That works for me because I probably wouldnt be able to afford HID right off the bat anyway.

Would this setup would involve the lights being fixed or popup?
I'm confused...
But anyways if ur making a kit that does the same as the miata ones, is a good $200 cheaper, and is made for the 7, then im gonna want in on this at some point

Pele-The ones we are using now are a high output HELLA Brand 85mm lenses but basically after the bucket is molded any "similar" size can be used or upgraded as needed. We may end up using the 90mm if I can get a big enough discount.
Jbar3987- They will operate like stock move up and down thanks to a version of this...- picture attached- The new ones are CNC machined and ready to install.
