Hot Damn ! Time to make a wall clock, or for super style make a clock out of it and wear it around your neck. Badge of Pride.

My rotor somehow had a few knicks on the surface of it. I'm not too concerned about it though and will be reusing it, i sanded it down with heavy grit sandpaper, hopefully that wasn't a mistake.

From the looks of it one of the apex seals blew. I managed to make it home (about 10 miles) this way.

Here's another one of the same rotor. Different spot.

this is kind of a dumb question but...why cant u still use a rotor like that? i mean i know if the housings were scratched it wouldnt seal properly, but what does that kind of damage affect on the rotor faces?

I hate when apex seals go out, they always take the rotor housing with it, unless your using carbon seals. I don't care too much when I broke bridgeports with them, they allways were re-usable!

However with a steel seal, it will not take much to do a lot of damage.

Yeah, I cant wait to get into mine to see how bad it is. I can feel large ****** missing from one of the apex seals through the exhaust ports on my rear rotor that lost compression...

I just took me stockport out and apart, found the rear rotor all screwed up too! I hate it! Otherwise, there was no flaking on the rotor housing-now trash, and they are hard to come by in usable condition. If only I took it out sooner and ported it and installed fresh apex seals, the old ones were quite thin on the good rotor. Anyway, I have one good housing out of the engine, and one other good one from another engine, so, a mildport is going back in as soon as I assemble it(thursday or friday). WOOHOO!!! Turbo mildport kicks ***!

I would think you would want three identical surfaces to
have three identical compressions.

Pff !! You guys should have seen my rotor when the engine blew ! lol ... 1 apex seal kinda flew out of the rotor I guess, I actually had deep chunks taken out of my chamber lol. Rotor was completely finished, and front ( beleive it or not ) housing completely finished too.
I had 0 compression on the front rotor and about 31 on the rear and I drove that sucker for 1.5 hours to a shop accross town ! Damn thing made it there no problem !!

The 7
damage on the rotor face more than likely means the apex seal grooves are also damaged.
The apex seal grooves need to be in great condition otherwise they will not hold the new seals in place.
