Does anyone paint the A-pillars body color?

My car is black, so it doesn't make a difference, but I always thought the flat black window pillars looks bad on light colored cars. Kind of breaks up the lines. Anyone paint them?

I have seen a few cars with these painted to match the body color. Personally, I think it looks crappy. I prefer the look of the black trim, doesn't have to be flat black.

I painted mine black, and there's also a mini tutorial on them.

If you don't mind the work, you can strip and polish the trim, but then you still have the mirrors, and door strips to deal with. Going totally monochromatic can have appeal too. It's all about balancng what the eye sees and focuses in on.

Were they always flat black or do they start out gloss and just fade that way?

I did mine gloss black (Mercedes Toner, actually) to match my black top.Took the idea from the NSX,Eclipse and Camaro from the 90's.The gloss black blends with the smooth "gloss" black of the tinted windows and makes the whole top of the car appear to be a bubble cockpit,in a sort of fighter jet type way.
