Do Rx7's come with 02 sensors?

I was wondering, do 1st gen rx7's come with an 02 sensor. Becasue I noticed that I dont have one. And im thinking that, that may be my fuel economy.

Tell me if im wrong.

Thanks

the carb'ed 12a ones wouldnt.
i imagine the gsl-se's with 13b efi engines would have to have them, though.

Carb tuning and not flooring it all the time. Unless you have a gas leak somewhere.

if its a 12a i would check the fuel connections, like around the fuel filter. maybe your running rich as hell, does your exhaust noticably smell weird?

Yeah, it really strong. And it smells like a boat.

What could this be?

you mean the burning oil smell? =)

rotary engines are supposed to burn some oil.
yours may be burning more than its supposed to.
i suppose you could check your oil metering pump to see if the return spring is strong enough to bring it back to fully closed.

if you have open exhaust, that might be all there is to it. rotary's are pretty stinky once you get rid of the emissions control devices. at least, thats been my experience.

you may just need to tune your carb a little better. if you see black-ish smoke in your exhaust, it is usually an indication of an excessively rich fuel mixture, which will contribute to lowered fuel economy and stinky exhaust.

blue smoke = oil,
black smoke = gas,
white smoke = water.
