Do i need to advance my timing? QUICK REPLY PLEASE!

I have a holley 600 on my 12a (yes its big i know, but i had access to it) and ive put in 56's for my primaries (jets)...what i need to know is...do i need to advance my timing now that i have more fuel going into the engine? Also...do i need to fix anything else? It seems to have a lot of "lag" in the gas...and sounds like its missing...whenever i step on it...it wants to die or it takes a second for it to rev...

HELP!
