Personally I removed the outer shielding, but left the sheilding that between the exhaust and the body. Just be carefull when driving over dry grass, don't want you to start a forest fire.

When I removed mine, I noticed a lot more heat on the passenger side of the car. The passenger side seat mounts get hot to the touch. But I also drive the car in very slow moving traffic too which may have an effect.

All my shielding is gone. The interior builds up some heat after I park it, but for the most part, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Occasionally, the Exh. Overheat light comes on, but that's only if I rod on it for a longer period of time.
