Dizzy dizzy Mark anyone?

Dizzy dizzy Mark anyone?

I was wondering if there is a mark to line the dizzy up with? like is there a way to line it up without guessing? let me know..

Hand crank the engine clockwise to the first mark on the pulley. Then poke the dizzy into the hole. See which way it turns as the gears mesh. Then pull the dizzy back out and turn it so the flat side of the shaft is pointing forward. Then push it back down and twist the dizzy housing untill the reluctor tip is closest to the little metal tip on the front (leading) magnetic pickup. If it looks like it may be offset by one tooth, simply pull the dizzy up past the gear, turn it a little, and push it back down. Try to align the housing so the hold-down bolt is over the clean spot on the hold-down plate.

That is how to set static timing, which you obviously need to do. Then you can fire up the engine and set it more accurately with a timing light.

By the way, I never use the little F mark, or the dimple, or anything else on the dizzy drive gear. You're welcome to try it though.

yeah i tryed the dimple......useless. thanks for the info it should be a faq or sticky..thanks again.
