Disc brakes on an originally drum brake rear end?

Hey whats up. My friend and I were doing a nice burnout session yesterday. Apparently the rear axle wasnt having as much fun as we were, and after he wound up for one and dropped the clutch, BAM!! CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK.........Oh ****.......CLUNK...

Anyway, he found a used drum brake rear end from a S or GS in the local scrapyard for $100. His RX7 is a GSL with disks (and posi, yeah yeah). Has anyone swapped the disk brakes on a drum rear to make a cheap fix work? It wont have posi, but I dont think he wants to do any burnouts for a while

Let me know what you know...thanks

it can be done.. you need to have a bracket made (or purchased.. pm me and i will give you the phone number of a guy that makes them) to mount the calipers.

Is that it? Caliper brackets? Sweet. I think I can make it work. God, what a cheeze setup. I wish there were more posi, disk rear ends around. But at this point, my friend is flat broke and I kind of blame myself for the breakage, cause I egged him on for "just one more burnout". Oh well, pay to play huh?!
