I have an 85 non-LSD.

When I jack up the back of my car such that both rear wheels are off the ground and put car in neutral with no parking brake, my driver side wheel spins freely without affecting the passenger side wheel. Then when I spin my passenger side it has a lot of resistance and strange noises (grinding sounds?) and does spin my driver side in the opposite direction. Then when I put it in first gear, I can spin both driver and passenger side wheels with the other side spinning in the opposite direction.

So my question is, why does the passenger side not spin inverse to when I spin the driver side in neutral?

Edit: Sorry, sorry... I went ahead and took the tires off to inspect my drum brakes and it was just that the drum brake on the passenger side was too tight and keeping the tire from spinning. Please delete or bury -.-
