Many 1994 models have sold for $5-10,000 over the book values. The NADA high retail for a 1984 is $4,175 so this one is not far off. The prices should be higher.

This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".
Note: This value does not represent a "parts car".
Average Retail Value
This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer".
High Retail Value
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *.
* "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle is not driven. It would generally be in a museum or transported in an enclosed trailer to concourse judging and car shows. This type of car would be stored in a climate-regulated facility.

The low bidder on this car (jacobmgb) bid on a car I had for sale about a month ago. He didn't take the second chance offer of $250, anyway i would think he made an error in bidding but he bid 3 times, i smell foul play.
ANY first gen with red interior is not worth this much unless it runs 10's.

the red
seems no one wants red, its been called something along the lines of "massage parlour" color or something like that. haha lol
i can't stand the red interior, its just ugly if you ask me. seems as though it almost decreases the value of the fb slightly if its red or maroon.
i'd much rather have the black, or the grey. even the ugly brown isn't as bad as the red IMO

I don't mind saying "whorehouse".
And yes red interior hurts value, regardless of condition.
I've got an 85 with red interior and it's almost mint, but i can't stand driving it.

Red all the way! Both of mine are done w/ red interiors. My first Seven was a grey and always wish I had a red. Maybe red is too close to the color pink and some of us are not comfortable enough with our sexuality to handle that!

Hey, joerx, I got a brown interior I will sell you! Cheap!
I don't much like red, either. It's just...fugly on these cars. Although, brown is not much better. And I don't think that guy will ever see his 4k. Sorry, looks like that dude stiffed him. Lotsa ebay ******** around.

NADA blows. Kelly Blue Book is a much better representation of actual values of vehicles. I freaking hate it when I go to look at a used car and the dealer pulls out the NADA and gives me a quote. I usually laugh and walk away. I had one guy in ATL try to charge us $6500 for a poorly running 2nd gen NA that needed about $1200 of work before it was in good condition. Guess which book he was using...
KBB For a 1985 RX-7 GSL with 200,000 miles, good sellable condition.
Retail Value Search Local Listings for This Car $1,825
Private Party Value in Excelent condition $1,225
Incidently, Private party value for a 200,000 mile GSL in "poor" condition (IE visual defects) is listed at "No Value"
Kind of a large spread from $4500 isn't it?
