Question Detatch Steering box from column. Possible?

IIRC, they're one piece, but I could be wrong... This is in relation to the rack and pinion thread, but different enough that I thought it needed it's own thread.

Can you remove the box and steering column seperately?

so how do you get the steering column out of the car, reason im asking is mine wouldnt come up, i was assuming where the bigger shaft goes over the smaller under the dash it should slide out from there, didnt spend too much time trying to figure it out, just worked around it, well how do you actually take it out, it would be helpful

you remove the collar off the steering column and pull it outwards, it wasnt too bad but I had the motor out when I did it, Id say it have to be a real BITCH with the motor in

@Pele It does come apart into 3 pieces, the actual column and worm gear, the sector shaft and the body of the steering box, there again its a real bitch, ask me how I know...
