Day pics Daytona Widebody (finally)

Here are the pics I promised last year!!! Daytona widebody, 12A turbo, microtec injected, cloth (custom) interior, simmons deep dish rims, just had steering wheel recovered in black suede, recaro seats blah blah...........

Thanks Mr T for the clutch help, now has Excedy ceramic button 1 ton clamp kit and grips hard.

Enjoy.

If ya don't own a rotor, don't own a motor......

I know the kit is hot but the way your mirrors are mounted is hot too!

It does look like a 944, but it looks nice. Especially the flares.

OK, will post pics of the motor in a couple of days....don't have the internet at home and work won't let me upload! Power plant is a 12 turbo from a jap 84/85, you know the one's with the orange turbo intake? But mine's painted blue. I will post pics of the engine, air pod and Fuel injection computer (Microtec D5). I actually took photo's but maximum upload of 5 pics cut them out.

The mirrors are aftermarket electric things (not sure of brand) and are mounted on plastic/fiberglass triangles in the bottom corner of the windows.

The kit is an old school one made in the 80's in Australia, yes commonly refered to as the porche kit! The front guards do look like a 944 but the front spoiler and rear guards and spoiler are a bit different.

Trochoid.... update on the clutch kit. Very, very happy with this kit. The company who makes them is Exedy and the kit is a HDB (heavy duty button) has a small amount of slip on take off at grab point but then full engagement, car is still very drivable in traffic with only a small difference in pedal feel. They have a web site in Australia if you would like to have a look.

Last thing.....the mags are a Australian company, Simmons. For all those after some deep dish (I never go hungary because of my deep dishes) in a variety of styles (some very nice 5 spoke/lastest models) they make them for any car on order! They to have an Australian web site.

Thanks to all.

Well I've got a new favorite widebody kit. At least the front. My favorite rear is still the Pacifica kit.

Probably not the most graceful shot of the rear, I will post 'straight on' pics of the back when posting engine and management pics, thanks.

The rear used to annoy me but over time it grew on me and now I love it (but not as much as the front). Did that sound contradictive?

Best widebody kit made for the first gen. You car looks great. One question though why did you not mold it in?

I take it you mean the rear spoiler and join in front/guards? The rear guards are molded in and the front panels / front end came as seperate bolt on pieces. I will get some close up shots of the rear.

I agree that this was the best kit for 1st gen, especially the front. Plus the added bonus of all fibreglass construction front end, so less weight all round.

I think the question is more about smoothing out the transition from the fender to the body so you cant tell where they meet.

You mean fill it with bog? Blasphemy! I also think because the suspension it quite hard it would probably rattle itself out over time. I do like the idea though.
