a day at the junkyard

Well, got some junkyard stuff today.

The list:

two 3.8l Ford fans
one 3.0L ford fan
two ignitors for Rx-7
rear e-brake cables for my LSD rear swap
2nd gen coil and ignitor (backup for the one I have)
One 1979 pristine waffle wheel (now just need 2 center caps to complete my set)
some connectors and springs

Total cost: $56.

not as good as the $50 car deal...

How much do ignitors run at a junkyard? How do you test them in the yard? Or is everything already tested, etc, off shelves?

I tried making a circuit to test ignitors. It didn't work with the bad ignitor I have...so I assume it would be useless in a yard ): I've since begun attempting to make a new circuit, directly off of the directions. My first attempt used a light-up toggle switch, instead of a switch/lamp combination. Appearantly that just won't do. I even have a 12V battery (for a remote control?) for it, but am having trouble soldering to it, or connecting it without just holding wires with my fingers to it.

the yard here has like 4 first gens and 2 second gens. Its a u-pull-it yard, so nothing tested. But they do have a thirty day return thing.

Yards here are EXPENSIVE AS HELL! However, if it's an ignitor or something, MISC sensors and **** are $5...

Thats why I wanted to make a circuit for testing them. Because I assume they don't test them if they pull them, and it'd be hard to test if the car's battery is dead, etc.

They just gave me the ignitors. I put them in and see if they work.
