Dashboard removed, will my car start?

Is there anything in the dashboard required to be connected (thinking harnesses or switches or Guages) for the car to start? The gauge cluster keeps coming to mind but I don't know that much about cars so to speak.

Story:
I'm in the middle of a number of restoring/fixing processes which has a great deal of my car disassembled. I can put the outside of the car back together quite quickly but prefer to take some time on the inside getting things done "right". To that end, I don't want to wait until my inside is done to start my car up, so is there anything I need connected inside to get things to start? A secondary reason is that I'm considering the MegaSquirt mod and I don't want to start installing something so complicated before checking if the car runs in its current condition, which it would suck to have to put all the interior back together just to check if the car runs. I suppose I can just put the outside back together (oil cooler and hoses, radiator, and little things like that) to find out but I'd kind of like a heads up for things to look out for if I go this direction.

Unfortuneatly there is a grounding circuit in the instrument cluster that sends a signal to the tach and completes the fuel pump circuit on the 84-85 models. You will have to install the cluster somehow with all the connectors in place in order to get the car to start.

I just made all that crap up. Yes it will start without the dash in there. LOL

By the way, I have my dash out on my Se right now also. Just changed the color to tan. Will post up pictures in a bit of the new dash color.

LOL you bastard!

You should have seen my dissappointed face followed by hearing the explicitives out of my mouth after I read your j/k. You are too much of a knowledge source to even doubt so I was actually sad for a second there.
