Unhappy dash trim piece '84-'85 removal

Hey, I'm changing my dash, and I was taking the screws out to remove it,and I ran into a problem. How does the center trim piece that goes around the head unit come off? I removed the two bottom screws, but it still won't come out. I already put a small crack in it trying to get it out. I give up, I need some help, anybody know how to get it out? I cant take my dash out until I get this out.

pull the climate control ***** off, and remove the nuts that retain them to the panel

yup, there's two thin nuts that go around the fan/temp control switch stalks. The ***** themselves just pull off.

Thanks guys, that did the trick....I didn't think the white part was attached to the trim piece, so I didn't figure that those nuts were what was holding it. Thanks.
