Unhappy dash panel lights are out

One more thing. I recently pulled my dash panels apart to put a new stereo in and wire a car alarm (85 Gsl-se) and the dimmer lights don't work. All other lights work in the car but the display and the heat *****. radio works and clock and light do as well.. Fuses appear good. anyone out there ever had this happen before? Could I have simply have missed a certain plug behind the dash or what?? thanks!

Those dimmer switches go bad, and if they do you lose your dash lights...

You can remove it and then jumper the right wires together and bypass the dimmer, the only draw back is that you get your interior lights at 100%

The switch went bad is my first FB I bypassed it and carefully removed the electronics from the back of the wheel and cove and re-inserted the cover so it looked like nothing happened.

I don't remember what wires you have to jummper together. I figured it out by trial and error.

Good luck

Jumper the 2 multi color wires together, the black is for ground, the other 2 are for power in and power out, rx7doctor
