TN Dash mods

I'm trying to redo my 85 rx7 from front to back. I really want a street legal race car. I have redone all the wiring in the whole to take out all the emission stuff, cruise control, AC, etc. I really want to keep the stock dash and interior as much as I can, I just like it. On the center console where the radio goes I only need a few things there. I want the vents in the top and the selector that selects where the air blows. The blower motor is now on toggle switches so I no longer need the turn style. I was wondering if anyone has used the factory center console and modified it or made something that has vents in it still. Thanks for any suggestions.

Here's a picture of what I did in my ITA race car. The clock and rotary switch holes are perfect for standard gauges (2-1/16"?).

How did you attach the metal part to the center console?

Do you happen to have a picture of the back side of it?

Sorry, but it took a while to get a picture. There are two aluminum flat plates that the front panel screws to. The flat plates can be screwed into the back of the stock piece or just screwed tight sandwiching the stock piece.
