the turn signal and warning lights still work

Ive checked all the fuses i could find unless there is more than one fusebox

Check the connector on leads exitting the back of your dimmer ****, and also make sure you didn't just spin the **** to minimum in the process of wrestling with your stereo.

Did you plug the wires with the bullet connectors under the shifter together? If you did it prob burned up the dimmer control they are not supposed to be hooked up I think they are for the automatic rx7 shifter lighting.

More than likely you do. I haven't looked at one in a few years but it can be bypassed and the dash lighting will be full bright instead of being dimmable. make sure to disconnect the wires there first I would tape them off or shrink wrap them to prevent a future screwup.

I've experienced this also and it turned out that the fuse would always blow out. When I have my dimmer switch completely off the fuse wouldnt blow and all my lights turn on and the headlights would then be able to go up/down. I came to the conclusion that I either have a loose/bad ground or my dimmer switch is completely blown. Try turning your dimmer off and replace the fuse. The only thing right now is that I don't have any lights for my dash at this time.
