if you want a bigger pic, and pics of other interiors, we have a site for aussie rotary owners, its:
www.ausrotary.com
then go to OUR CARS and you can see what a few people have done.
hope this helps

WOW!

Where'd you get the "Custom" dirt?

I bet it's J-Spec dirt right?

Another question, (Same Topic)

Do those (OR ANY) White faced gauges look
Black at night?

For Example:

DAY:
White Face / Black Numbers

NITE:

Black Face / Orange Numbers

Mine look the same, just with blue backlighting from some colored bulbs. They don't look like the high dollar ones.

Yeah, I'd LOVE that. Is it on anything more than the planning stages?

It looks like the one Autometer sells for the Mustangs.

Unfortunatly, It'll be a couple more months before I have my prototype done...

It was originally conceived as a custom "one-off" piece, but there's been so much interest that I'm working on some plans to produce a small number of them.

I'll post more when I get closer...

now that setup is bad ***,
but also totally backwards,
you would have to switch everything left to right.
mirror image and it would be perfect.

Well, Let me defend my *own* personal dash.

Buttons:
Top Left: Hazzard (Emergency) flashers
Lower Left: Headlight up/Down Switch
Top Right: Rear Defroster switch.
Top Right: Rear Wiper Switch (GSL/GSL-SE Models)
Cruise Control: On Combination switch stalk, Master on lower left side.
This model doesn't bring a "*choke*" either.
The A/C now has 4 Fan speeds instead of the previous 3.

Oh, and by the way, I have yet to see one of these dashboards cracked - Ever.

Pictures do not do this or any other 84/85 dash justice.
They are aboslutely gorgeous if in good shape. The Gauages and everything else are back-lit only. Not front lit, giving it a real "cockpit" feeling at night.
Everything has an orange luminesence glow, which Lexus later used in their models years later.

It is by far, one of my favorite dashes, even by today's standards. I will try to post of picture of it at night if my Digicam can do it justice.

The Only drawback with this design is the 2 1/2 DIN sized radio opening. Makes it pretty hard to replace the factory radio with anything else that looks like it belongs there. But then, the factory radio was years ahead of its time.

I have to agree, my 85 Dash never ceases to amaze me by it's beauty, esp. at night.

hey now, i get a few compliments on how good the interior on my 85 gsl is, and its bone stock. i do have a new head unit though. lights up red just like the interior, or i can switch it to green. as soon as i get a digicam i'll post pics. in case anyone noticed i take pics of all my stuff that can make it in front of the webcam. ahhh to be bored, its a wonderful thing
