Cruise control deceased!

I think it might have been those damned audio shop dudes.

First they made it so the antenna and side mirrors didnt worke electronically, and after i made them fix it, now my cruise control mysteriously doesnt work.

Perhaps there is a fuse that they somehow blew? Any clue?

Sorry i dont have any more info, but i'm not an electrician.

I can say this:

The cruise toggle button beneath the steering column works, push it in it lights up. But the button on the shaft of the wiper selector doesnt.

1985 GS

Thanks!

Geoff

Two things to check...the cruise control brain is located behind one of the storage bins, not sure if drivers or pass. But it's there and maybe they cut a wire loose if they were back there.,

If they were in the engine bay, the plastic vaccum "t" connectors that connect the vac lines are notorious for rotting after 18 years. If the one controlling your cruise came loose, you probably have a high iidle and no cruise. Same thing happened to me. Look for a cannister on the pass side of the engine with a throttle cable coming from it. Cruise control...follow the vac lines from it and see if you have any leaks. A likely culprit.

Right on.

its behind the drivers side, its a gold box with a ton of wires coming outta it. the sliver box that says clarion is the factory stereo amplifier...

Only problem I ever had with mine was the brake switch, even when you were off the brakes the cruise thought the brake was pushed in...

Ok, i'm goign to check the brain behind the driver bin.

I have tried to get in there before, but it seemed to be wedged in between the metal frame.

How do i get the bin out????

Thanks guys!!

You pull the storage compartment out, remove the screws pull up a little bit and then press the inside together and pull it out...
