cross drilled and slotted rotors.

hey guys, i went and bought the cross drilled and slotted rotors off ebay. so far they are awsome. but the only problem right now i am having is i think that the driver side rear is rubbing. anybody know what causes that?

Does the caliper slide inboard and outboard smoothly?

Is the caliper piston seized? (One brake pad worn more then the other)

Pull the caliper out completely and grease up the upper pin. Grease up the lower pin and screw it back in.

The caliper should now slide inboard and outboard freely.

You removed the caliper by the mounting bracket to replace the brake rotor.

The pins I am talking about are the ones the caliper slides on. The pins come into play when you replace the brake pads.

the rotor might not be seated completly flat on the axle , causing rubbing...make sure there is ni desbris on the axle surface where the rotor sits

im not sue, the wheel could work loose, since the wheel bolts to the rotor that sits on the axle...... its your call

Cool I remember there were some Q's about whether they were the real thing - glad to hear they worked out.

About the sticking I agree that it's *probably* the pins needing lube. Once you take the caliper off make sure to clean the pin and clean the inside of the caliper where the pin goes through too. I've had the inside get cacked with some pretty hard "gunk" and even with grease it didn't free up well until I cleaned the actual caliper. If they are working correctly they are easy to slide on and off that pin when you're putting it back together.

Ok, that is what I thought. Trying to find them for a 82 is nearly impossible.

I've seen them on e-bay occasionally...

https://www.kvrperformance.com/index.html
Or try these guys. You'll probably have to e-mail them to find out if they have them, as their catalogue doesn't list everything...

I just bought a full set on ebay. $139 for all four. Cant pass them up at that price. They tell you to specify which set you need. So you can get them for an 82 no problem.

Depends on who you ask bouis. I bought them cause the price for all 4 was lower than replacements from autozone. I could care less that they are drilled/slotted whatever.
