First off, I adjusted my OMP linkage a few days ago. I opened the hood and for some reason it was disconnected it. So I tightened it up, now every once in a while when I start the car it is difficult to start and smokes profusley until it warms up. But my car is fairly low mileage, and never smoked before this. So I am hoping maybe you can confirm my suspisions. (Not yet willing to pre-mix...)

Also, my car runs very cool, the fan clutch is not stuck, and it is low on coolant... Any suggestions? I am confused... Thank you for helping me out, I have limited internet access so I wont be able to get back to you until later tonight.

Did you adjust the mop rod per the FSM specs? 1 mm clearance between the rod and washer at the bottom, iirc. You actually trust your gauge to be accurate? Confirm temp with one that has a readout.

 

No I didnt adjust it to any spec, I will take some time to investigate that tommorow.

 

As for the temperature, how can you be sure that the thermostat isn't stuck open or something of that nature?
