could be a fuel pump going out?

This morning when i started to drive i noticed whenever i drov above about 2500rpm and would lay in the gas my car would start to sputter real bad, It gets worse the higher rpm i run(cutting out like its not getting enought fuel as the rpm's increase). I was thinking it may be a fuel pump going out. My plugs are good(running the 7eix's), ignition etc.. would make sense to be igniton related but, i think it's my fuel pump. It's one of the only things i havent replaced.
tell me you think.
thanks,

Check the fuel filter first, or just replace it. If the problem is still there it may be the fuel pump or the pickup tube in the tank is clogging.

Could also be an internal blockage in the carb. I don't know how hard it is to pull the jets on that carb, but it might be worth giving them a good cleaning...
