Cosmo 13B-RE install, need advice..

Hey guys,
I am about to install a Cosmo 13B-RE motor with stock harness , but I wanted to go with a series 5 gearbox instead of the auto tranny. I wanted to know if there would be any problems encountered, since the auto tranny plugs into the ECU, if there would be any mod that would have to be done for the ECU to work as normal. I already have the GSL-SE sump to install, just have to get a front cover . Also, would I be able to use the Cosmo 13B front counter weight if using a series 5 flwheel at the back with gearbox ?

Dont know how the ECU will work with a manual tranny. Leave the rear counterweight in place, and get an aftermarket flywheel for the turbo transmission. If you put a S5 flywheel it will disturb the balance of the internals (front counterweight, rotors and the rear counterweight/flywheel is a matched set).

I agree with frode, get yourself a light weight flywheel and keep the stock auto rear counterweight in place. The S4 T2 trans is easier to adapt to the FB crossmember than the S5 T2 trans FYI. S4's have a flat mounting surface like FB's while the S5's have a "V" shaped mount.
I went with a Haltech so I'm not sure how you can get around using the stock ecu with a manual box. I think there are a few people that have done this though, maybe poke around in the 20b section.
