So who makes that hood or is it a one-off?

I like that hood, too, but the hood vent dam is too narrow to have such a 'square jaw' for the raised lip...and why do both of them run 90 deg to the hoodlines? It's too abrupt.

Really? Isn't it a little too busy looking? White will look better I'm guessing.

If you are talking about the whole look, tacked on flares, big wing or whale tail, and a radical hood, that is what I would call the "Please give me a ticket" look. White is better than bright red, of course.

My car is pretty stock in appearance except for the hood, and even that is pretty subtle. The cops never pay much attention to me except at a stoplight when they hear the engine. 4 1/2 years, no tickets yet. I am not a street racer, of course.

Something to be aware of if you have air outlets very far back on the hood - I had warm air from the engine flowing right into my cold air grille on hot days, had to block it off to keep cool. Of course my hood bulge was strictly to clear the carb air inlet, not for cooling.

Red doesnt automatically put you in the crosshairs either.

If you drive safely, and dont have obnoxiously illegal mods on your car, youll usually be alright.Ive only been written one ticket in the last 6 years, and it was for speeding when I was actually speeding(15mph over). And I would have got it regardless of what car I was driving because it was on radar.

I used to get more hassel when my car was half primer and noisy.A quiet exhaust goes a long way to keep you from being conspicuous. And from what Ive experienced,a finished/clean vehicle is less of a target than a cobby beat-runner(no offense to anyone that hasent finished their project car.....you know what I mean.)

Damn! Now I have to go buy a can of auto paint for my primer too!

Bah! I'll just invest in a radar detector :P

I really like that style on that red car. Kind of an "old-school racer" look. That's sorta what I'm shooting for, but there are some things I'd do differently. I'd get a smaller wing like one of the "low profile" ones Mazdatrix sells, and a hood more like FIBREMAZ's. I'd also lose the graphics, naturally.

i like mine, it makes such a huge difference than the stock hood. i've switched them out once and never put it back on. i made the scoop outta fiberglass and cut through the hood. i also have a circular intake.

That is what my car needs. And the air filter for the carb on top of my camden would fit in there nicely. I just don't think it looks good though.

Fibremaz is correct about the location being off, but I can put them in the right places.

Now that you mention it, the right corner of the hood looks off... But I thik that's just the light playing tricks....

EDIT- After zooming in on it... the outter louvers look suspicious, but I still think its just the light playing tricks.

No, I don't think they're 'shopped. The lighting appears to be correct for all the louvers. Or if they are, someone spent some time and did a heck of a job on it.

Its not chopped, theres other photos of that car on the net, and it has the hood like that. I too love the JDM look of the red one, not that much of the hood, but the whole car looks great, kinda what wanted to do to mine before I wrecked it.
