coolant on sparkplugs = engine dead/dying?

after leaving my '79 for a few days i had a bit of trouble starting it. I checked the plugs and the 2 on one of the rotors had coolant on them. So i guess this is a cracked seal or something?
After the car's started for bout 5 seconds it runs fine and drives fine. So is the engine basically a time bomb now and might die at anytime or is there measures to prolong its life?

<--- noob rotary driver
thanks

Could be just an intake o-ring. I would give this a look before I signed the death certificate.

Remove the lower intake manifold and you will see the coolant passageways and the o-rings. These get brittle/decayed through time and can cause a coolant leak in your intake.

What he said. Although if it is the the KOD, yo can always try the Paul Yaw fix. It worked on mine and got another 6 months out of her before it blew an apex.

All of my 7s have developed a coolant leak and all were fixed with the Paul Yaw fix. The way that Yaw does this should insure that the sealant takes, and that it doesn't cause secondary problems. It just takes a couple days of fussing, so be prepared with a backup car to drive. Easier and cheaper than a rebuild, though.

Now I just put one of those $5 Prestone flush Tees into the heater hose right away to simplify flushing.

If the Paul Yaw fix can cause secondary problems such as blown apex seals due to not freshening up the soft and hard seals when they needed it, I think I'd rather 'fix' it once before it's too late instead of having to spend even more replacing rotors, housings etc a couple miles down the road.

pretty much you flush out the radiator with de-greaser to clean it all out (turn on the heater too to get it all out of the heater core) you run it til its warm and then let it cool and flush it out, do this about 5-6 times.

then do it 3-5 times with just water to get all the degreaser out

then get some radiator filler (i didn't have the exact type they say, so i just made sure it had copper) run the car til warm, add the filler, run it for 20 min.

turn off the car and drain the fluid out right after. let it stand to dry overnight.

then fill with normal amounts and drive it nicely for awhile lol.

i might be off but the exact stuff but its on the rotary ressurection site
