control arm

my control arms have lots of slop, pinging and knocking when I hit bumps, also pulling the steering around. I pulled out the pin holding the inner part of the arm to the chassis and the barring just fell out, is that normal?
New control arm bushings are on the way, will the new bushings need to reuse this barring/spacer combo? anyone have a write up on replacing the control are and ball joints? the haynes manual doesn't do a adequet job explaingn to me. \
thx

Orion did a writeup a while back I think. The new bushing will replace the old parts, nothing old will be reused except for the bolt/nut (with all bushings I have seen, anyway).
