compression and starting problems

well, first off, untill monday my car is running really rich. i also dontthink it has very good compression. could this cause starting problems. it will barely fire when its 45 degrees outside. i dont know if compression is the problem, but even pull starting it with a tow strap, i cant make it fire. i checked the plugs, connections and distributer all that...

check the apex seals
i.e. compression test
