i have an 84 gsl. i was wonder if thereis anyways to find out if your losing compression. any sign? i have another problem my 7 hesitatates around 1000 rpms and i have a rough idle.. what r some things to check to fix this.. maybe a good tune up?????

For the hesitation, check these things:
spark plugs
distributor cap and rotor
spark plug wires
fuel filter
air filter
For the compression, crank the engine and listen for an unevenness in the cranking. You can also do a search and follow the steps to do a compression test.
