Color Match Question: SA console trim

Does anyone know of a rattle-can color match for the silver-grey paint used on the shift surround and the stereo/heater surround on the SA's?

It's sort of a dull pewter color, not real glossy.

I want to do some crack repairs on my shift surround and then re-paint it, but I have no idea how to match that color.

I went through the same problem on my fb, i bought a can of dark gray paint that was close to the stock color and painted the whole thing, shifter surround, radio/heater surround, and the *****. Came out really nice. Hardest part is removing the radio surround.

We have a local paint supply store that matches colors as long as you have a sample of what the final finish is supposed to look like. They are pretty acurate! I'd be willing to bet you could find some place like that in your area. I had some paint loaded into a rattle can that matched great!

I do a bunch of interior resto and matching color is more than difficult. I have an '80 shifter and center surround in my car now. If you have the ability to spray the paint with a gun, I could mix some up for you.

If you have more questions PM me

That's a nice offer; thanks. Would probably make it worthwhile to pick up a touch-up gun; I have a small compressor.

Will PM you when I'm ready, thanks!
