Arrow Clutch Woes

Just Installed a used engine. and the clutch doesn't dissengage all the way, If i ever stomp the gas the clutch will slip, and the revs will go up, but not all power is getting to the wheels. I've already blead the slave, and it didn't change anything. I think my problem might have been that I used a clutch disk with 30,000 km from my old engine, and i used the pressure plate that came with the used engine. the pressure plate from the used engine looked like it was in much better condition. I think it may be a hydrolic problem aswell, like the slave isn't releasing the fork all the way. any ideas. the new engine feels much smoother, and powerful. but i can't take advantage of it at all right now.

Just thinking, I might have handled the clutch disk with my greasy, oily hands. Would the oil just burn off? and could it cause so much slipping?

Any time the engine and tranny are seperated, you should replace at least the clutch disk, reanny input shaft seal, and engine main seal... It just makes sense to replace these cheap parts, compared to the trouble it takes to get the tranny or engine out...

I think you're finding out the hard way...

Let the clutch slip some and maybe the oil will burn off, but I think you need a clutch.

The oil won't burn unless you actually make it slip... a good 5-10 sec or so should do it... Jsut try and accelerate on the highway in 5th... The revs will go up, then slowly come back down as the oil burns off. It's how I handled my other car with a crank seal leak...
