Clutch Question?????

I took my rex out of the garage today so the door guy can fix a problem in there. I left it out side to warm up. No problems there. When I went to put her back in the clutch pedal went right to the floor with no resistance. I did notice a little fluid coming from the pedal rod that goes throught the fire wall, but the fluid is full on the cylinder. Could it be the master and slave??

Thanks

John

I just recently had this problem, I replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder and the Clutch Slave Cylinder that fixed my problems. Check the Fluid on the master cylinder if its dark or discolored could be that you have bad seals in the cylinder. I didnt have no leaking as you said but my seals were shot...Best thing I can tell you is to replace the clutch master and slave cylinder at the same time ( recommended ).

Just a sugestion but I'd take the soft line lose at the firewall for the slave cylinder, it's alot easier and the haneys doesn't warn you about that.

Thanks guys. I'm replacing the master, slave and hose. i also have to replace the solid metal line from the master. The nut was so tight it stripped out. It looks like they are all original, so eventually they needed to be changed.

John

By the way, that top nut for thr master is a bitch to get off.

yes it is! I took the rod lose at the pedal. That made it alot easier. Sorry I forgot about that.

Did you use a fitting wrench? Its alot easier to get them on and off. Those nuts are brass and I tried it with a crescent wrench and it just started stripping it. Well you got it anyway yeah I also replaced that rubber hose to the slave with a steel braided line from mazdatrix. I didnt do nothing with the pedal though...
