Clutch Problems
I just recently purchased another FB to add to my collection, an '85 GS. I've driven 200 miles or so and noticed some strange things with the clutch.
When driving the car after its warmed up, for about the first 30mins or so of driving the clutch is fine. After that, I seem to be having some excessive play in the pedal and it is very difficult to engage just about any gear. Its near IMPOSSIBLE to get it into first without slamming it into gear.
Checked my clutch fluid and it was fine, thinking maybe it was a leaky slave cylinder. I have yet to check the tranni fluid but will be doing so this week.
Strange thing is it only happens when the car has been driven for over 30 mins or so.The clutch is fine before that time frame but as I said, after 30 mins or so I have about 4 inches of free play in the clutch pedal. When I start the car in the morning to let it warm up I've got about 2 inches of free play.
Should I just adjust my clutch pedal or has someone has this problem before?

Try flushing the old fluid out of the hydralic system. Old brake fluid will draw moisture, and creates a fade at higher temps. This sounds like what is happening.
The easy way to do this, is to get a length of clear tubing that fits snug over the bleeder on the slave, and open the cap on the master cly. Open the bleeder slightly, and keep an eye on the fluid level in the resivour. Gravity will draw the old fluid out thru the clear tubing, just don't let the master cly run empty. Keep adding fluid until it runs clear out the bottom, then close the bleeder.

I had an old Maxima with a leaky slave cylinder, that gave the same symptoms. The more you used the clutch the worse it would get, but leave it sit overnight and she would be ok. Take a close look at the slave when you are replacing the fluid, just to be sure...
