clutch problems

ok here it goes i finally got my rx-7 back with a rebuilt 12a engine and this thing runs great i was clocking 120 down the highway.
i didn't drive this thing for a full year. Now i remeber why i love that car. but any way i am having some clutch problems
it stays to the ground i press it in and it just stays there. i tryed to bleed them it would come back up for a while they the same this would happen again.I have to push it back up with my foot.
Any suggestions. now the person that put in my engine also put in a new slave cylinder. i still think it has air in it.

Wink

Classic air in the clutch line. The slave is easy to bleed. It sits in back of the engine atop the bellhousing.

Best to yuh,
Denny, from the 'ol corncrib...

How lubed is the pedal itself? I'm not sure what the best stuff to use is, but even WD40 might be ok if it doesn't ruin nylon parts. Are there any nylon bushings up in there?

no not that i know of. we did bleed the thing a crap load of times
and it still stays down. the funny thing about it is that even if you put the clutch down it stays in gear.

Are you loosing any fluid?

Sound like the return spring in the clutch master cylinder is bad. It's what returns the pedal. You may want to take a peek at Chapter five in your Haynes manual; it shows a blowup of the clutch master cylinder.

thanks

Ladies and gentle men
i have my black 1985 rx-7 in working condition
it runs perfect other then the fact that i cant see the speedometer at night because the dash lights don't work
i tryed a fuse but that didn't work. also the stupid slave cylinder broke after i got a new master cylinder. i already beat a very bad *** looking jetta ( he didnt know what hit him) all he saw the the sticker in the back of the car which said F***er.
thank you to everyone that helped me and does any one have some ideas about my dash light. thanks
