clutch master rustification

i installed a new clutch mc and sc from vb (or bd, or whatever it is now) about two weeks ago and the mc is rusting like a muthafucka. its also causing the firewall around it to rust really, really bad. has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how i should keep it from doing this after i remove the thing again and get rid of the current rust?
thanx

They do rust as they have a really cheap arsed paint job, that's not a real issue, but your firewall is, I suspect you had brake fluid on the paint which strips the paint, it may be too late but wash it off.

Crappy paint? I have seen some of these come out of the box with NO paint. Rust begins 30 seconds after you touch the part. lol

I have gotten to the point that I refuse to deal with deteriorating parts. If a part comes off the car, it gets refurbished before it goes back on, even the new ones.
