clutch hydro problems

Hi all, i just picked up a beater 82 gsl. after doing a tune up, (plugs wires, rotor, cap. etc.) i bled the brakes and tried the clutch as well. but i we couldn't get any pressure through the master/slave. Got a new master and the same problem occurred. I primed the master and fluid went through. also adjusted the push rod so it would engage the master closer, didn't help, but did give me a good eye shot of dot 3. the hard line is clear, so then its the slave right? oh ya, problem is it wont go into gear when running. ive read and read, but i just want to make sure. i know that they should be replaced together but really trying to save some cash. thanks a lot

Can you see any leaks when you press the clutch? Is there any feel in the pedal whatsoever?

You could replace the slave anyways, they are cheap, i do feel you on cash though. Give us a bit more info like. Like is there any feedback in the pedal at all? In my experience when the slave goes bad the pedal just goes to the floor.

Also as im sure you know brake fluid is a brutally toxic substance. Like Horrible.

Anyhow To me it doesnt sound like the slave, but answer the question and we can give a bit more help

I had the same problem with my first Rex. Everyone on the forum said "Replace the master AND the slave at the same time!"

And so I did.

It fixed the whole pressure thing immediately. I feel ye for cash, but I think it has to be done.

i would day it sounds like a master/slave situation. my pedal on my 85 goes to the floor but i have to do a full clutch job on it. check to make sure that the fork is not free floating, and i fits not then just do the master/slave...they are fairly cheap compared to just about everything else on these things
