Can anyone tell me what goes above the climate controls? My '80 SA looks like its missing a trim piece or maybe a light.

Does anyone have illuminated climate controls?

Also where the 1st Gens available with illuminated ignition switch?

 

yes the FB was available with the illumination. i don't believe one could get the SA with illumination for the ignition cylander the missing trim piece is a small black piecs with 2 screws. goes on the top. all climate controls should be illuminated in all years.

 

So the missing black piece holds the light for the climate controls?

They aren't backlit are they? The plastic that the climate control labels are written on appears to be non-transparent.

Anybody got a picture of there's at night illuminated?

 

the climate controls are definatly lit by a backlight. its a small light that turns into the back of the panel. the small black piece just helps to secure the panel to the dash.

 

Yep, mines illuminated, even the ignition switch has a light, but that doesn't even work anyway. Along with the dome lamp. (Doors open, light doesn't go on...yes, the switch is set to door...)
