clear up some boosted 12a questions please

ok, so ive searched, and read till i want to cry. but i have some questions about turboing a 12a that i owuld like cleared up, but cant find in searching...

- oil lines. i understand you need to make a T where the oil pressure sending unit is, is this true? and where does the oil drain line go, to the oil pan?

- carb - i hear robert does modded nikki's, i shot him an email. but are there any budget alternatives?

- manifold, turbo 2 manifold, just oval out the holes? how well does that actually work? i know the 13b is 10mm longer than the 12a, does it match up?

- ill be honest, im about to roll over 155k on the motor. its a strong motor, but can i count on it to handle boost for a while? or am i on a lost cause? it wont be a daily driver, but will be driven on the street/autox track.

- how much boost can i expect it to handle on stock ports/motor?

- is a walbro 255 to big of a pump assuming i go with the 4309 regulator?

- do i need the j-spec manifold for this if i use the nikki? or can i get away with the stocker? how hard is that manifold to get ahold of?

- what kind of power can i expect out of it?

to clear it up, after i get

-turbo
-manifold
-intake manifold
-modded carb
-fuel pump/regulator
-oil lines

what else is there? is it really as simple as it sounds?

I'm curious about what levels of boost are safe as well. The folks at Atkins say 8-10lbs, but I find that real hard to believe.

Tap the front cover for the oil return line, I suppose you could go into the pan if you wanted, but the front cover is the easiest. For the distributer, you have to get the centrifugal advance welded so you can lock the timing. You don't want to advance under boost.

You could get the 12at dizzy but from everything i've heard it isn't worth it, it retards timing a total of 5 degree's, and is at max retard at 6psi of boost.

I can personally say 10psi is perfectly fine for a carb'ed 12a engine. One of my friends was actually running 15psi for a while before he cracked an endplate (from not dowlpinning). Upon taredown on the engine, everything internally looked great (just the endplate). 9-10 psi is what he runs now.
