Cheap Exhaust

I need to buy me a new exhaust on my 81 RX-7 and I only have about a $100 to put into it. What is the least restrictive exhaust I can put on my car for this price. The car can be loud but not so loud that I get stopped by the police. Any suggestions?

you can buy a highflow cat from rollhard perfomance they are right in your price range and supposedly outperform random technology's cat, which are awesome. Some guys swear highflow cats help more than headers

1st and very most important question,
Do you live where your cars exhaust gets tested each year?
If no, a test pipe that relpaces your cats would be one idea

Also go fast parts cost money. But you can sometimes get around little stuff.

Emissions is not a concern for me because I never get tested where I live. Right now I have the stock exhaust manifold and a straitpipe for my exhaust. I need to quiet my exhaust down because I have been pulled over too many times for being too loud. I still want to have my exhaust free flowing but I need it to be quieter.

I dont' know if it will fit your budget but they make silencers for engines.... you may want to look into that because i'm not sure if the muffler can get rid of that much sound and not restrict airflow

If i'm right--more baffles in muffler means quieter but more restrictive... i may be wrong

after reading about it,and researching,,i choose that one,,i too live in ca.
and asking them about emissions,,will pass,,but not the visual,,a chance
i'll take...i'm also going to run dual exhuast out the back too,so it should

get a racing beat presilencer($65 and no restriction), an a dynomax superflow muffler(i think that's the one). have a local muffler shop slap it on for you. should be about $100 to $150 total. when you get a chance.... get some headers! its a world of difference. and pacesetter/monza is NOT an option. it is not worth what you pay for it. i know because i bought one. now i get to buy ANOTHER exhaust. and it's only been 8 months... pacesetter

So if I replace my cat with straight pipe, will a header and pre-silencer all fit in? If so, both header and pre-silencer from RB? What should I expect to pay for a header?
