Centrifugal Supercharger

I am putting together a supercharger kit for my car. Its almost complete, I just need to decide which way to go for the compressor itself. I welded up a carb hat from aluminum and mocked up my piping and intercooler. I was looking at the procharger PS1C which is supposed to be good for 675hp, which well exceeds what I plan to make. I've seen people talk about using an eaton M90 from the 3800 series II, but i dont see how a direct mount would work on this car. There dosent seem to be a whole lot of info on supercharging the rotary, so any guidance would be most greatly appreciated. My plan was to use a centrifugal and mount it where the AC compressor normally goes, then run the piping around the drivers side of the rad and out the other side to the intake... Simple enough.

I forgot to mention, its a street-ported 12a, with stock 3mm steel apex seals, and a RB street-port exhaust system. I am still running the nikki carb, but plan to have it modified once I decide on how much boost will be run, and what other mods will be done before it hits the streets.

You are treading in pretty much untouched territory. I'm not aware of anyone who has done this type of remote mount supercharger. As far as sizing the supercharger, I would look for one that is suited for engines that are 2, 2-1/2 times the 12A's cu. in. Sizing the charger on max hp output alone is probably not the best choice.

Another consideration is rpm range since many piston engines don't have our rpm spread.

Centrifugal supercharger would be your best bet. Twin Screws simply dont flow enough to feed a rotary - See The camden kit.

Keep in mind that flow of a rotary is much different than flow of a piston motor. That said, Centrifugal Superchargers respond much like a Turbo. That being said, it would be Easier to go turbo.

Also, I dont think the Nikki will flow enough, even modded.

I thought about going turbo, but I dont want to get into custom exhaust manifolds. I JUST installed my RB system. The PS1C max RPM is 80,000rpm, which is not quite a quick as a turbo (upto 150k or more). It is one of the smaller head units from procharger, but I'm told has a VERY high flow rate. There are alot of people that are encouraging me to use a modified nikki with this project... I was gonna go with a megasquirt injector system, but the whole idea behind fabricating almost everything myself kinda gets ruined with that. I want to see what kinda results I can get on a limited budget "do-it-yourself" kinda way... its not that I dont want to spend the money... I just want to see if it can be done. Eventaully I'll give in and go all out, but for now... i want to go home-made. If its successful, maybe others will follow with my project. The aluminum hat only cost me $5 to make (i used materials from work) LOL! I'll post pics of some of my pieces soon. IE: the hat and plumbing.

The Camden kit is a direct mount roots type blower...
