cat questions

Ok, the exhaust on my 83 S is haning on by a few neatly placed pieces of wire and coat hangers. Time for a new one, everything. I'm gonna get a RB powerpulse muffler and header of course but I'm not sure what cat to get. It has to pass inspection, but I want some performance too. The "gray market" cat that mazdatrix sells looks like it would do the job, but thats really pushing my budget, are there any other good ones? Any advice welcome. TIA

The "gary market" cat that mazdatrix sells is the only cat that I'm aware of that will bolt right up to the RB header. The bonez cat will not bolt up to the RB header will bolt up to the Mindtrain header because, from what I understand, the Mindtrain header is a direct replacement for the stock manifold. So..... if I were you, I would look into the Mindtrain header, bonez cat and RB muffler as a setup. http://www.kickyride.com carries Mindtrain stuff and I'm sure they can confirm or deny anything I've said here.

EDIT - There is a well written article about Catalytic Converters over at www.rotarynews.com
