Carter P4070 fuel pump

Does anybody have one on their car? If so how did you mount it?

Here's a pic:

haha, you have to love the direct responses here on this forum Where and how much $ was that pump?

edit: found it at summitracing.com for 60 bucks. Is this pump considered a good fuel upgrade if you're looking for a 12a with full exhaust and upgraded carb? says 72gph and 6psi max pressure.

Regulator goes inside the engine bay, like this for example:

The fuel pump is mounted near the differential, under the watts linkage.

Okay. Now for the fuel-pump-noob questions:

cdrad has that mounted where the original one goes correct?

All the wires and lines I need are right there correct?

Will I need to use the return line off the carb? It's a Mikuni 44PHH. I have full RB exhaust, non-ported 12A.

And I suppose the rubber grommets are to keep the pump from vibrating and making noise correct?

Not correct. That fuel pump would not fit stock location, esp. since it has to be mounted vertically. Stock location is along driver's side frame rail, near where the fuel filter is.

Yes all the wires and lines you need are right there, but you might wanna inspect and replace any of the 20 year old fuel lines that are about to give up the ghost.

I don't know about the Mikuni, but with my modded Nikki, and a 0-4 psi Holley FPR, I have the return line capped, as you can see in the pic.

Oh yeah, and the rubber parts are intended to reduce noise and vibration, which is accomplished to some degree. But you will definitely hear the pump working.

I'll definitely hear it. I hear the stock one. I have no lock boxes or carpet in the back. Removed the colon cancer of my car. So where exactly is that first pic? Looks like it's mounted to the angled area under the lockboxes. I guess I should just put it on the ramps today and have a look see. I have an FPR. I figured 4psi was right... sound good? Anybody know?

If it's for a Nikki set the pressure at about 2.5 psi. You will need a good pressure gauge of course.

It's for a Mikuni 44PHH and the regulator has the numbers on it.

For that I don't know, but I surely hope it's not a Purolator FPR.

I believe my FPR is a mr. gasket:

I may get a fuel guage and a different fpr if I feel like a little bling.

Yeah, I've heard those FPR are flow restrictive at high RPM. Do a search though to confirm.
