carter fuel pump swap
I've got the carter fuel pump, and I went to look at the original and it has three hoes coming from it. That do i do with the thrid hose and what does it do? I don't see any electrical wires so I am assuming they come in from the top somewhere from the chassis. Is that right? Thanks

Well, knowing nothing about fuel pumps and what-not, I only have an educated guess... I'm guessing one is from the tank, and two are to the carb, one sending, and one return. Is that correct everybody? As far as what to do with them, I dont know, but I think thats what they are... Good Luck.

3 hoes? lucky you, i don't have any right now!
there are 3 hoses comming from the pump itself? that's not how i recall mine being. it should be line from the tank to the filter. then the filter to the pump inlet. pump outlet to the safety valve. then to the carb.
the other line is the return from the carb to the tank. you shouldn't have to touch that line. btw, the pressure line is 5/16" and the return is the smaller of the two.
the elect wires go through the floor under the drivers side bin. if you need a little extra wire, pull the bin out and cut the zip tie. mazda was kind enough to leave and extra foot or so of wire.
