carter fuel pump swap

I've got the carter fuel pump, and I went to look at the original and it has three hoes coming from it. That do i do with the thrid hose and what does it do? I don't see any electrical wires so I am assuming they come in from the top somewhere from the chassis. Is that right? Thanks

Well, knowing nothing about fuel pumps and what-not, I only have an educated guess... I'm guessing one is from the tank, and two are to the carb, one sending, and one return. Is that correct everybody? As far as what to do with them, I dont know, but I think thats what they are... Good Luck.

Ok But i dont see how i can leave the third hose alone. The stock pump has three hoses. I have to take off the third to install the carter pump. Where do i route it?

LOL, are you sure you're looking at the fuel pump? It has two hoses, inlet from fuel tank and outlet going to carb.

It's a heavily modified fuel pump!!!

Try hooking it up and letting it suck and see which is outlet and inlet?
