Carb and Timing???

I've heard from several people that putting a big holley double pumper and turning the timing 180 degrees out instantly makes my car wicked fast (I was told 10sec 1/4's). It may just be me but this just seems too easy. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this??

Power is limited by how much air you can get into the combustion chamber and by how much exhaust you can get out of it. If you don't do anything to improve those two items, you can only make small improvements within the existing environment inside the combustion chamber. That's the long answer.

The short answer? Phhhhhhhhhht!
