carb ?/ running out of fuel

carb ?/ running out of fuel

every time i get on my 7 it runs out of fuel just into third
gear. i have an inline filter under the hood and the stock filter is new. what gives?

You need a quiet efficient 21st century gerotor style fuel pump like the Mallory Comp140 or Aeromotive....that's what....you need more volume...

U really should check the float level, make sure it's set right. Fuel pressure's next, I think stock system is like 2-4lbs and after market carbs need at least 6lbs. With increased pressure comes more volume. All probs I've had with carb running out of gas is float level being too low.

I'd get rid of the second filter for starters. Other than that you probably just need a better fuel pump.

It's bound to turn into 4 pages now that you brought it up. Wouldn't it be easier just to say flow decreases as pressure goes up and get it over and done with?
