carb rebuild using thick cork gaskets?

Ok, so here is the question, what happens if i get a roll of cork gasket and cut to size to use as gaskets on my nikki? Would this work at all, or would it affect the torque or hp? How bad of an idea is this? Just toying with ideas...

If its worth doing its worth doing right. A carb rebuild kit will also have some other bits that cant be replaced with cork.

Yea, just break down and buy a kit if the carb needs rebuilding.

I have a kit, but i was just wondering if the cork was a good idea or bad, b/c I heard that it seals better or something. Also because of the gaps (it is .08 cm), would it affect diveability for the better or worse?

I rebuilt mine with a kit with paper, and it does fine, just use what's in the kit
